The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.
"Eager readiness to believe what others say, has ever proved mischievous. The whole world was thus ruined at first. The man who is spiritually wise, depends on the Savior alone for acceptance. He is watchful against the enemies of his salvation, by taking heed to God's word."
We ask you to take the time to read the following Proverbs. And ask yourself these questions......
Do you follow others?
Do you walk in the way of faith or do you walk in the way that benefits you here on earth?
7 Stay away from a fool,
for you will not find knowledge on their lips.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,
but the folly of fools is deception.
9 Fools mock at making amends for sin,
but goodwill is found among the upright.
10 Each heart knows its own bitterness,
and no one else can share its joy.
11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12 There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
13 Even in laughter the heart may ache,
and rejoicing may end in grief.
14 The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways,
and the good rewarded for theirs.
15 The simple believe anything,
but the prudent give thought to their steps
I can tell you that I have followed the wrong crowd when I have felt alone and felt the need to belong. I have also learned from experience that there is nothing to learn from the fool. The foolish have no power to help you, and therefore time spent with them, is a waste. I happen to like the way that the bible speaks about fools. We all get fooled. It is when we stay fooled and live in their deceit. When I was in the presence of fools, my heart was always being tugged. I knew that I was not to be there and enjoying their company. As the tugging became stronger, my time with them, became less and less. I spent more time praying and reading the bible, watching the sun rise and being at peace. Peace was what my life was missing. And I definitely did not find "Peace" in the presence of fools.
People who believe in their own foolish ways and behavior, cheat themselves. By spending the time I did with them, I cheated myself out of the most amazing peaceful time in God's presence. Fools believe that they have the true ideas, and the true pleasures, but it is a miserable delusion. They cheat others. They mislead by the falsehood of their words and crafty ways.
Look around you, who are you spending your quality time with? I have never needed a bunch of friends or for everyone to like me. And I am okay with people laughing at me for how I live my life. I am okay with finger pointing and name calling. I love the following line, that I read in my bible study.
"For the foolish, laughing at sin relieves them the fear of it."
In closing, I will use the cliché "I wish I knew then, what I know now." But, I focus on the now. And learn from the people that I have met in the past, spent time with and trusted. I now, pray. I pray about everything! He has ALL of the answers.
